UNICEF USA July 2025 Youth Advocacy Training (YAG)

Deadline: June 8
Eligibility: USA (14-24)
The Youth Advocacy Training supports US-based young people, ages 14-24, to build core advocacy skills for youth-led civic engagement. Using UNICEF’s Youth Advocacy Guide and workplan the training will teach you the process of advocacy, combining clear ‘how to’ steps with inspirational stories from other youth advocates who are striving to bring about change. Through four sessions of participatory, virtual workshops, you'll learn to develop personal goals for your advocacy issue; tell your story; develop networking strategies; leverage the people and resources around you; and learn how to effectively communicate as an advocate. Throughout the training you will develop your very own advocacy action plan to guide your advocacy journey. You will also engage in mini-workshops on event planning, working with social media, peer coaching, and issue-based networking.
Who should apply?
The Youth Advocacy Training is designed for advocates from the United States at the beginning of their learning journey with advocacy. Participants should have some general knowledge and experience with advocacy and should have an advocacy issue in mind. Participants should be between the ages of 14-24 and currently based in the U.S.
When is the training?
The training will take place across a series of four days July 21-24, 2025. Each day the training will take place 12:00 PM-2:30 PM EST time.
Participants must be available for all four sessions.
